Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression;

This right includes freedom to hold opinions without

interference and to seek, receive and impart information and

ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

The purpose of government is to serve the best interests of the people governed in a partnership where justice and freedom of expression ensure peace and stability. Excerpt from Archbishop Tutu’s letter to the first Assembly of EJI in Berlin, January 2004.
